This year is especially challenging for people with disabilities, since the problem of inclusion became more pronounced in the context of a global pandemic. The risk of poor outcomes for people with special needs has been magnified due to reduced access to routine health care and rehabilitation services, and increased social isolation .

According to the United Nations, the world population is now over 7 billion, and more than one billion people live with some form of disability.

The Red Line Foundation is positioned to help those who have undergone amputation or who were born without limbs. Even under normal circumstances not every limbless person has access to healthcare and the necessary prosthetics. The global COVID-19 crisis has deepened existing inequalities, exposing the extent of exclusion. This can reduce opportunities for education, employment and social integration for the limbless. This is why the Red Line Foundation team finds it so important to stick with our commitments.

This year we started to collaborate with a number of clinics in various European cities, helping patients from Ukraine, Russia, Romania, Poland and the Netherlands. The Foundation will continue working to ensure that persons with disabilities are not left behind.
